I say “Ask someone who has been there”. Not because they will teach everything you need to know about the situation you are about to face, but to prepare you with all your own strengths.
When you open your mouth and speak, people will be able to tell what quality education you have, how wise are you and whether they want to interact with you or not. This is because the first impression is not always accurate, people can not judge how good you are unless you speak. With speaking comes honesty, passion and understanding. Today we speak and write more than any other generation that proceeded us; however, the value of our contributions has been diminishing.
I have always been fond of speaking and I spoke in religious gatherings, in conferences, countless Toastmasters clubs and conferences. I would encourage you to get in touch with me to discover what speaking can do for you in your life that would impact your confidence, leadership and happiness.

Coaching, Mentoring or Consulting?

Many people wonder what are the difference? I have done them all, and in any educational relationship we may use a mixture of these approaches because every one of them has their advantages and disadvantages. At this point let’s define them so they become clear when we use them.

Consulting

This is where the consultant does 80% of teaching while the learner contributes with 20% from their experience. An example is going to a bone’s consultant, we tend to accept their assessment, decisions and remedy. Same in life consultancy where the patient accepts the diagnosis of the consultant and applies the majority of his/her recommendations. The main reason is because usually when we hire consultants, we trust their specialisations due to their dedication to master a skill.

Coaching

This is where the learner usually called a Coachee and the teacher, usually called a Coach work on a split in authority of the opposite of consulting. The Coachee leads 80% of the time while the Coach leads only 20% of the time. This is because the weight of the skills to be built must reside with the learner. An example of this relationship is in sports, where a football coach intends to make stars out of players through encouragement, guidance, and support, however all the running, sweating and practicing reside with the players.

Mentoring

In this relationship, the teacher is called Mentor and the student is called a Mentee. The split of deciding and doing is shared 50:50. This is where the Mentor gives direct advice, point out to important reading, and demands real action. The Mentee will put in the time to fulfil agreed upon tasks, commit to reach the target and take initiative in ensuring constant communication with the Mentor. Both sides have to be serious and committed. An example of this relationship is in public speaking clubs where an advanced speaker mentors a new speaker. The outcome is another confident speaker that the club can be proud of as well as building confident and reaching target for the Mentee.

Every engagement is structured into 2 parts;
Part 1: A discovery session of 30 minutes
This is where we get to understand each other and find out if we are fit to work together.
Part 2: A plan of progress
This is where we both decide how do you want to progress; how regular we meet and what agree on actions on both of us. Select one of the following sessions and let’s start your development.

Coaching in Public Speaking 1-Hour

In this session we will discuss your understanding of public speaking, why you want to become a better public speaker, what plans we can put in place for you and how to proceed in fulfilling your ambitions on public speaking.

Coaching in BI Career 1-Hour

In this session we will discover your priorities in getting into a career of business intelligence, how to prepare your CV, how to research and study different tools, what are your targets in getting into a job, how to prepare for interviews, and what certifications suit you to become a professional and sought after.

Session in NLP 1-Hour

The moment we are born, we begin with a scream. This is because we are coming to a world we do not know. Fears in our lives build up over the years until the last second of our life, they will always be there, and for good reasons too, however, when fears stop us from doing something good for ourselves, they become a burden.
